Today I’m so excited to share my absolute favorite beauty products! I had so much fun writing this post and really took my time to write out thoughtful comments for these products and why I love them. By no means am I claiming to be a beauty guru, beauty expert or anything of the like. I just want to share the every-day products I love to use and have seen great success with. My skin certainly has imperfections but these products have helped to either cover or clear some blemishes and skin discoloration. To be completely transparent, some of these products are a bit pricey. But, they also last a long time. I view it as an investment for healthy skin!
I’ve linked each product below, and I’ve also put a product scroll at the end of this post that you can shop from if you want to take notes and wait until the end ☺️😘. Let’s get started!
Tarte Amazonian Clay. I’ve used this foundation for about a year now and I love it! It’s just full-coverage enough to hide any imperfections but still feels light and breathable on my skin.
Tarte Shape Tape. This is a newer product I’ve been using for about 6 months, and let me tell you, I’M OBSESSED! It is a thicker concealer than I’ve used in the past but it blends really well and doesn’t slide down your skin. I was using an Urban Decay concealer, but I’m so glad I made the switch. The tube is huge and it seriously will last 4-5 months, depending on how much you use of course. I put it under my eyes, t-zone, a few dots on my chin and cupid’s bow.
Laura Mercier Primer. Again, another newer product I’ve started using. I’ll be totally honest: I have always thought primers were a waste of money and I didn’t understand why it was necessary… until I started using it 😂. I first got this primer when I cashed in some of my Sephora points for a Laura Mercier set and this primer was included. I instantly fell in love. My skin looks vibrant and smooth. I can totally tell a difference now if I don’t use the primer vs. using it. I’m a primer-for-lifer now! I just bought a new bottle because the sample size is close to running out. This is one of those pricer items, with a $38 price tag but the bottle is huge so I’m assuming it will last a while because a little goes a long way. I got the sample size bottle in August, and it’s just now getting close to running out if that tells you anything!
Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder. Regardless of what powder you use, I’m telling you now this is the powder you want to add into your routine. It’s perfect for setting concealer and foundation, and your skin just looks and feels clean.
Origins Ginzing Moisturizer. I love Origins! My mom worked for the company a few years back and that’s when I started using it. While they do have a higher price tag, their skin care is just unmatched. It’s refreshing to use. This is my favorite line I’ve tried so far from Origins, but I really just love anything they sell.
Origins Ginzing Under-eye. See above! 😁
Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette. As far as a contour kit goes, I’d say this is the best I’ve used. I prefer powders to creams because creams make my skin greasy looking. This palette has lasted me years! Since I use other products for setting powder and highlight, I’m really just using the bronzers at this point.
NYX Ombre Blush. A cheapie but a goodie! I love blush and I have quite a few I mix between, but I love this blush for it’s pigment quality and price! NYX also has GREAT lipsticks!
Becca X Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop Highlighter. One of my best friends turned me onto Jaclyn Hill several years ago, so when she started to release makeup collabs, I was ALL ABOUT IT. And this highlighter does not disappoint! It’s the only highlighter I use. Sometimes I use it on my eyelids if I’m doing a fresh-face look and it’s just stunning. Hillster forever!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Veronica, Craft & Crush. Basically this is the only matte liquid lipstick I’ve found that I like. It’s long-wear & doesn’t get tacky. My favorite color is Crush, it’s my go-to for every day wear.
Urban Decay De-slick Setting Spray. One of the only setting spray’s I’ve ever used but I LOVE IT. My skin tends to get oily so fast but this spray helps to keep my makeup looking fresh and in place.
Mario Badescu Rose Water. Can’t live without it. Perfect to add to clean skin, use to damp your beauty blender, or with your setting spray. I especially love it after traveling! It’s a great refresher, and smells heavenly.
Philosophy Purity Face Wash. The only face wash I’ll ever use again! It cleans all of your make up off, it smells fresh and my skin feels baby soft. A little pricey, but worth it. A little goes a long way!
Impressions Vanity Mirror. This is a newer purchase and I absolutely love it! I saw that Emily Gemma, The Sweetest Thing blog, uses this mirror and it really is great! It’s not a necessity, but it’s nice to use to make sure your makeup is blended well.
Clarisonic Mia 2. A must-have in my skincare routine. I’ve had a Clarisonic for years and it’s the best to refresh your skin and keep it glowy. I take really good care of mine and I have yet to replace the brush piece. I clean it just like I do my makeup brushes and it’s held up!
NYX Liner. It took me a long time to find an eyeliner that will do what I want, which is just a simple cat-eye. I don’t line my water line or lower lids with any pencil, I just use this liner and it goes on smoothly and is perfect for creating lines. It’s very affordable, long wear (doesn’t smudge) and I’ve had the same tube for well over a year.
Morphe X Jaclyn Hill Palette. Jaclyn Hill, nuff’ said! This palette is everything it’s talked up to be. The colors are beautiful, they blend well and the quality is unmatched. Like, no fall out. It’s awesome. If you buy ANY new eye shadow, buy this palette. It’s $38 on Morphe.com or Ulta.com, and Jaclyn’s discount code works on it, too. Be sure to buy only from Morphe or Ulta, and not from eBay, etc. I’ve seen horror stories on Twitter with bogus palettes being sold.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. So, funny story about how I got into filling in my eyebrows. But first let me say, THIS PRODUCT IS BOMB. It fills in beautifully, without looking overdone. Whether you’re doing a full shape or just filling in (which is mostly what I do, I have a lot of brows..now), it’s a great product to use! I’ve heard great things about the dip powder, too, but I don’t really need to use that.
Okay, funny story. My whole life my brows have been full and can get a little crazy but I never, ever plucked them. I would do occasional waxes when I turned like 16/17, just to start shaping but never really taking much. One evening, while out with a few girlfriends, we decided to try threading… at the mall… I told the lady threading (I don’t know the professional name!) to just shape and take only the stragglers. THIS LADY TOOK ALMOST MY WHOLE EYEBROW. I was distraught. I know, first world problems and I’m rolling my eyes, too. I cried in Sephora. My bff told me to get the brow wiz to fill them in and make them look thicker. That was about… 4 years ago. I kid you not, NO ONE has touched my eyebrows since. I pluck the stragglers but that’s it. They’re FINALLY getting to the point I don’t need to fill them in much, but I do love this product especially if I have a full face of makeup on. It totally brings the look together to fill in your brows just enough to define them. No offense to those who actually thread brows for a living or get them threaded because I’ve seen more success and beautifully manicured brows than I have stories like mine. I just thought it was a fun story to tell.
L’Oreal Double Extend Lash Mascara. The best mascara I’ve used, and I’ve used a lot of them. I love Dior Show if I had to choose a luxury brand, but I will always buy this mascara and use it. I love the primer application, I think that’s what makes all the difference. It’s about $10, the tube does dry out a little fast, but it’s not clumpy and the removal is a breeze. No runny black goop down your face. It slides right off your lashes with water. Of course I use a cleanser, but it’s just that easy to remove.
Living Proof Dry Shampoo. I just bought my second bottle of this, and I’m obsessed! I have yet to find a dry shampoo that smells good, and doesn’t weigh my hair down. This dry shampoo has exceeded my expectations and it feels like minty on your scalp when you spray it. Highly recommended for all my girls who are a regular dry shampoo user.
Living Proof Instant Texture Mist. I can’t say enough positive things about this product. First, it smells AMAZING!. Second, it’s perfect for holding your curls in place without looking crunchy. I pump a few sprays into the palm of my hand, rub my hands together and just kind of “scrunch” my curls and then shake my roots with my finger tips to get the top of my head. It will hold my curls all day, and keep them bouncy. It’s also a great texturizer to put in your hair wet if you’re going for a natural look.
Not Your Mother’s Sea Salt Spray. The best spray to use in your hair wet for a beachy “wave” look. I don’t have super curly hair, it kind of crinkles. So I love this spray because it doesn’t create that piecey curl/crinkle look and it dries smooth.
SensatioNail Shellac Kit. I love having my nails done, but it can get expensive to go every two or three weeks! My husband gifted this kit to me in March for my birthday and I’ve used it ever since! The shellac doesn’t last 2 weeks, but it comes off easy and doesn’t damage your nail. And it’s super easy to fix if it chips. You can buy the nail polishes at Wal Mart or Target for less than $9. I have a really pretty light pink and maroon that I wear.
