Hello, sweet friends!
With the year quickly coming to an end, and Christmas just days away, I think it’s time we participate in a treat-yourself spa day, but at home! I love a 90 minute massage, mani/pedi, and facial at the spa just as much as the next person, but that’s not always feasible this time of year for a multitude of reasons. That’s where this post comes in handy! An at-home spa day can be fun, inexpensive and totally relaxing to reset for the holiday and new year. At the end of this post, I’m sharing little more about where my corner of the web is going in 2018, too. Stick around to read!
Here are a few ideas for refreshing your mind, body & soul with an at-home spa day!
I love the Yesto brand paper masks, and the charcoal detox is my absolute favorite! I found a large pack at Sam’s and snagged those because I use them so often. They’re VERY affordable and really work! My skin always feels so soft, and I’m not even kidding, my blemishes clear up so fast. I also LOVE the Origins active charcoal mask. I bought the travel size because it is a bit on the pricier end, but it is one of the best masks I’ve ever used.
One of my favorite rooms in my home is our master bath and our glorious soaker tub! It’s one of my favorite ways to unwind and relax after a long day. I’ve never used the LUSH bath bombs and I hear awesome things about this brand, but I do use the bath bombs from Target and I really like them! I’m a huge fan of Bath and Body Works bubble bath, too. Their aromatherapy line smells incredible. This one is my favorite!
I LOVE having my nails painted. For me, when I have my nails done, I feel like my life is more put together. I know, that’s so odd but it’s how I feel! My husband gifted me this at-home shellac kit for my birthday earlier this year and I seriously love it!! If you’re not into putting shellac on your nails and you prefer to use a lacquer paint, Essie and Sally Hansen have great quality polishes that are affordable. I’ve never had experience doing acrylic nails at home, so I’m not even going to touch that.
Bonus fun: make it into a girls day and invite your friends over for face masks and nails! Grab your favorite bottle of rose or make a crockpot of delicious hot cocoa, put on your favorite movies and get zen!
So, this little space on the web…
I hope this year has brought many blessings to you and yours, and that you have big plans for 2018. I know that this year has been a wild ride for me. Starting this blog has been such a fun, creative and rewarding outlet for me and I can’t wait to see where we go in 2018. If you’ve been following along since day 1, this space used to be called Road to Wajnblom – which is my last name and is pronounced like “vinebloom”. I’ve recently changed the name of my blog to Kozy Up With Kris (more representative of my goal of this blog), but the mission remains the same.
Since being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease (read more about my story here!), my life has completely changed. I’m still working on how to live to the fullest with my illness, and that’s why I started this blog. To share my journey and the things that make me feel happy in hopes that it will inspire you or someone you know to not let an ugly illness or difficult life stage affect you negatively. To show you that you can live a purpose-filled life even on your hardest days. I know, easier said than done. But that is my hope and mission in doing all of this!
I share a lot of my life on Instagram. I keep it real and show you my bad days, too. I’m not here to fool you or pressure you into buying something bogus. I’m here to share with you the products I enjoy (in fashion, home & beauty) and life experiences. I hope that in the future I’m able to work with the very brands I use and enjoy, and that I can share with you in the most genuine way possible. It’s my hope that you’ll stick around with me and that we can grow together. I love having this space to share with you, and to learn from you!
Thank you for your support, it really means the world to me.
