Welcome back! I’m so glad you’re here ☺️
Let’s face it. Life gets so busy and we often feel like we are drowning in the never-ending to-do list. I know this is the case for me some days. Staying organized becomes imperative to our success and sanity! Today I’m sharing a two easy ways to stay organized and save our sanity!
2 Easy Ways to Stay Organized
Plan it out.
If you read my last post, you probably already knew this was coming: buy a planner and USE IT. There is something to be said about writing down your tasks and checking them off. I know that we have endless ways to plan out our days with our smart phones, but I feel like I’m more productive with a physical planner and writing my tasks down on paper, ya feel me?
I have a Day Designer planner and I LOVE it! The layout is perfect for a task-oriented person like me. Each day has time slots, top three section, a to-do section with built-in circles to check off (which I love!), a notes section AND a gratitude section. The monthly calendar has a to-do section which is great for writing down your monthly goals. It is perfection!
In combination with your planner, schedule important tasks and meetings on your phone calendar and set reminders. This will help you stay on task, be on time and get your shit done in a timely manner… and that’s all we’re trying to accomplish, right? 🤷🏻♀️ Of course life happens and it’s not always easy to stay on your planned schedule. But, if you’re already organized, then it shouldn’t be as inconvenient to reschedule. 👍🏻
Think happy thoughts.
Ok, this may sound cheesy, but mind over matter is EVERYTHING. There will always be more work to do than time to do it (including housework and being a parent because that’s the real time-consumer). Keeping a positive, healthy mind will yield better results when you’re feeling overwhelmed with everything you have to get done/want to accomplish.
One way to keep a healthy mind and positive outlook is to create a vision board! This has seriously been a game changer for me. This year is the first year I’ve created a vision board and let me tell you, I’ve already seen the benefits of this! I see it every day and can look to it when I’m feeling overwhelmed or discouraged. It reminds me of WHY I’m doing what I’m doing, and that I can do this!

Another way to keep your mind thinking happy thoughts is to pray/meditate. When you’re feeling like you physically just can’t fit anything else in, take a 1-5 minute break to either 1. list a few things you’re grateful for or 2. release the anxiety and stress of that task or the busyness of the day. I also like to take a break from what I’m doing and either go for a walk or grab some water and just remove myself from the task for a few minutes.
One thing I’ve adopted in 2018 to help form a healthy mind is to write in a gratitude journal. Because I have a thousand notebooks, I needed to buy a NEW notebook for this purpose…… I’ve written in my gratitude journal almost everyday. Just to be perfectly honest, I’ve had to batch a few days in one entry because I haven’t quite made it a habit I remember to do everyday. But, I write down what I’ve done/accomplished that day, what troubled me and I create a list of what I’m thankful for. It’s really helped to keep me centered and I’m excited to look back on this at the beginning of 2019 and see all that I’ve accomplished, because let’s face it… we forget a lot! I do, at least.
