Our home is my sanctuary, my safe place, my happy place. I love to spend time decorating our home and creating a comfy, cozy space. Our home is roughly 3000 sq. ft. and is an open concept. During the conception phase of building our home, one of the must-have’s was natural light. We installed 6 ft. windows in all of our rooms to really let in that natural light, and boy am I glad we did. Our home often feels like an open, airy cozy space. This room is one of my favorites simply because it’s main purpose is to relax in. It houses a lounge couch, a tufted bench, a navy-blue velvet chair (one of my favorite purchases!), a side table, a Dracaena Corn plant (purifies the air!), and the dog toys and food.
I love to mix feminine and industrial touches to our contemporary-style home. I don’t think I necessarily have a decorating style; I collect what I like and what flows well with our personalities. I have a lot of work to do, but here are a few snapshots of the breakfast nook, and of course, our pups.
I will definitely share more as we complete more rooms. I love sharing home decor, redecorating and learning new trends to mix in with my favorite trends. I think the theme I’m going with this year is finding house plants to fill in anywhere I can. I love the way greenery looks indoors and how fresh it makes a room feel. The health benefits are a plus, too!
This room certainly needs something on the walls, but I struggle so hard with finding wall decor. I feel like everything I tend to find in stores is poor quality but has a lofty price tag. I have really good luck at TJ Maxx and At Home, but I’ve been on the pickier side as of late. I’m always on the lookout for quality decor pieces, so please share any thoughts or advice on where to shop. I pick up items from all over, I just make sure they’re quality pieces at a good price.
