Welcome back! I’m so glad you’re here ☺️
Today I want to talk about where I find my inspiration because it’s truly been on my mind lately to share this with you. I feel so passionate about what I’m doing (this blog!) and how I want to grow this space. I know that with anything in life that you’re passionate about, you want results immediately.
This is a really slow crawl, and if you’re a seasoned blogger, you know this struggle better than me and can attest to its frustrations. I’m still very new to the game, and I have a lot to learn and a lot to accomplish. Staying motivated in this industry seems to be hard for a lot of people, and burn out happens quite fast. I get it.
First, let’s get a little back story.
Within the first six months of launching my blog, I had essentially already given up on it. I didn’t know where I was going, didn’t have a plan, and I was super focused on finding a new 9-5. Being let go from my job in April of 2017, I was in a complete panic and starting to really doubt myself after being turned down interview after interview. I have a sparkling resume and did well in school, so why was I being passed up at every opportunity? Because my trajectory changed, and I was completely oblivious to it for MONTHS.
With God at my focus and a new perspective, things are starting to make sense.
You know when someone tells you that they’re doing exactly what they’re meant to be doing, and they’re fulfilling their purpose? Yeah, I can say that I’m part of that club now. It’s more than just a lifestyle blog, it’s a business and a purpose. I’ve rebranded and am laser-focused on its growth. I’m seeing results, I’m getting reassured at every corner, and it has me feeling SOME KIND OF WAY.

Where I find my inspiration.
My vision board.
In case you missed it, I created a bomb.com vision board for 2018 and it’s seriously been the best thing I have done for myself in regards to my productivity. I have quotes and photos on this board that are meaningful to me and represent goals I want to accomplish and mantra’s I want to live by and encourage others to live by.
This is something I see every single day, it’s set up in my breakfast nook/sunroom because that’s where I spend most of my time when I’m working. It’s in my direct sightline if I’m working from my kitchen island. It’s always visible and reminding me to keep pushing.
I’m definitely someone who can feel the vibrations of the earth and how it works with our energies. I feel like I’ve always been in tune with nature, and I seek nature when I need a refresher or pick-me-up. When I’m feeling down or my energy is just low, my go-to is to get myself outside. I have two sweet doggos that love going on walkies, so we grab the leads and get outside for a walk.
One of my favorite places in the world is Table Rock Lake. It’s the most beautiful lake in my area, super easy to get to, and I always feel revived after a day on the lake. If I can’t get to the lake, I love spending a few hours at the park with my dogs, a blanket and my notepad. I always leave feeling motivated with a clear head!
This is going to be hard to keep short and sweet because I know so many girlbosses and I’m obsessed and inspired by them daily! Being part of the Boss Girl Bloggers Facebook group has connected me with so many amazing women who support each other and genuinely want to see each other succeed. This has been such an inspiration to me because I’m surrounded by women who are succeeding on the regular and sharing their successes with each other in this group. The founder of Boss Girl Bloggers, Lauren, is a newish blogger and has just exploded over the year after starting this group and really putting herself out there. It’s inspiring to see someone so new find success so quickly. Truly a #GirlBoss.
Another #GirlBoss that I want to tell everyone about is Annie Spano. She is the founder of Style Collective, a community that empowers women to become successful bloggers and entrepreneurs. This woman is seriously incredible. I’m so inspired by her story about how and why she got started with Style Collective and creating this huge and successful community. Total girl crush!
Annie has an awesome podcast called Becoming Fearless and that’s where I really connected with her and knew that we are soul sisters! Like Annie, I was in a toxic work environment that was not helping me grow in the way I wanted to grow. As Annie would say, I was thrown off my true north and lost my authentic self. Her story, where she is now and all that she is accomplishing has validated my hard work and everything I’m putting into this space. She is truly a God-send and I encourage you to start listening to her podcast today, follow her on social media and soak up all of the knowledge that she has!
Last, but certainly not least, is my Faith and trusting the plan that God has for me. Every day that I wake up, I’m met with an overwhelming feeling of accomplishment and passion for this space, and the future I’m trying to create. I know that God has put me through some truly trying times to show me that I’m strong and capable, and to lead me to where I’m at now.
100% I know that my path to success and fulfillment is through this industry and community. Everything that is happening in my life right now is showing me this. I trust Him that this is where I’m supposed to be right now. That alone keeps me inspired and motivated to get up early every day, put in the hours, deal with the frustrating aspects of owning my own business and to create content that is meaningful and authentic to me.
Be encouraged, girlfriend!
Whatever you’re called to do, I hope that this was in some way helpful and inspiring to you. If you’re struggling with finding motivation, I encourage you to seek out those that you admire. You will be surprised by how much inspiration you can get from those who are doing what you want to be doing.
Create a vision board and be intentional about it! Really think about what you want to accomplish in your life, and create goals that will get you there.
Look for signs that show you what you’re supposed to be doing and seek that thing! Wake up in the morning with a passionate heart and be willing to put in the work.
