Hello, there! Long time, no talk. Sorry about that. As I’m sure everyone else is in the same boat, this summer was crazy & while I’m not working a full-time gig right now, I’ve had a lot going on. So, here we are! It’s October and I’m trying my best to get into a nice blogging schedule. By now you probably know my health issues, how I live with an autoimmune disease and all that good stuff. But in case you might have forgotten, click here to read how I manage it.
Which brings me to what I thought would be a fun post – a few of my favorite lifestyle products (and a quick photo or two of my living room & kitchen because it felt super cozy in here today and I just had to share). Let’s get started!
Up until I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, I didn’t take vitamins seriously. If I did take a vitamin, it was sporadic and I didn’t do much research into what I was actually putting into my body. While I’ve mostly been a healthy eater, I definitely neglected taking vitamins. I saw a holistic doctor shortly after my diagnosis and it was recommended that I take these vitamins by Garden of Life to help aid in healing my gut. I love this company because they are health-conscious and care about what goes into your body. They use whole foods only in their supplements, never any chemical additives that you’ll find in most other brands of supplements. If you want to learn a little more about this company, check out their website! This is in no way sponsored or affiliated with Garden of Life brand, I just genuinely like their product and believe in their process.
I take the recommended dosage in the raw prenatal vitamins, collagen, calcium, raw iron, and probiotic. Best of all, they don’t leave you with that weird, vitamin taste in the back of your throat or burping up the vitamins later in the day. Anyone else hate that?? I know I do, which is part of the reason I neglected my vitamins for so long. These go down easy, and don’t remind you later on that you’ve taken them.
I am OBSESSED with this protein powder in the vanilla flavor. It’s so healthy and tastes amazing in shakes & my favorite protein waffle recipe. I know that I don’t get enough protein and I since I don’t eat dairy, I can’t have a lot of protein powders on the market (looking at you whey protein). I did my happy dance when I found this and I haven’t looked back. It doesn’t taste chalky and it blends really well with everything I’ve used it in. Highly recommend!
Just a heads-up, these products are a little on the pricey side. I justify it because I’m learning that my health is the most important priority right now (and forever), so I make sure these fit in my budget each month because they help immensely and they’re great quality for a reasonable price. I stand behind them and recommend them to anyone and everyone! I buy these products at my local health food store and on Amazon when the health food store is out of stock.
The last product in this bunch is the Olly hair, skin and nail daily vitamin, and oh. my. gosh. It’s amazing! I saw this in a magazine early this year that Olivia Culpo recommended so I had to try it. This vitamin plus the collagen I take has really improved my hair and nails. My skin looks better, too, but I am definitely struggling with hormonal blemishes. My hormones are out of whack, but that’s another story for another day. These vitamins are delicious and seriously work better than any hair supplement I’ve tried, and I’ve tried a lot of them. I’m a serial hair-cutter then regret that I did it… and I love me some balayage highlights. They’re affordable & healthy and are sold at Target – could it get any better? I haven’t tried any other products from this brand, but I’m assuming they’re all just as amazing.
Now onto a few of my other favorite things right now!
- White pumpkin brulee candle from TJ Maxx. Run. Go now. Buy all of them. I know a lot of people are obsessed with Bath and Body Works candles, and yes those are amazing, too. But my go-to candle shop is and always will be TJ Maxx because they’re affordable and they smell ah-maz-ing. They fill our whole house up with that cozy, warm pumpkin smell. It’s the best.
- Pineapple glass tumblers. Hey there, cuties! If you’re as obsessed with this pineapple trend as I am, you’re going to want to get a few of these. They’re perfect for decorating your bar cart and even better for sipping out of. They’re great quality, affordable and seriously so cute! I bought these from Bed, Bath and Beyond this past spring, but I actually saw some similar at TJ Maxx a few months ago.
And last but not least, a few shots of my living room and kitchen, because well, it was extra cozy today. As always, drop any questions or comments, and I hope you enjoyed! XO!
