Welcome back! I’m so glad you’re here ☺️
Today I want to chat a bit about a few of the things I can’t live without. I think we all hold a few possessions dearly, and that’s perfectly normal! This is a hodgepodge of items that are tangible and things that you can’t necessarily touch. So, without further ado…
5 Things I Can’t Live Without
Planner, notebooks and pens.
One of my (many) guilty pleasures are stationary items. I love them. I obsess over them. I have a hard time NOT buying a cute notebook every time I wander into TJ Maxx 🤷🏻♀️ I have a collection of pens and notebooks that are hardly used but greatly treasured. One day I’ll use them… My favorite planner at the moment, and the brand I’ve used for the last few years, is the Day Designer. It’s big, roomy and has great organization. It’s also really pretty, which is a big deciding factor ya feel me?
Ok, so admittedly, I’m not the girl who attends church every Sunday, or even every other Sunday. I’ve never felt that I NEEDED to go to church in order to feel God’s presence in my life. This is not to say that I don’t love church and appreciate the fellowship it brings, but I’ve always had a different approach to my spirituality. And, to be very honest, I’ve been a bit ashamed about this in the past. I’ve felt the pressure to “keep up with appearances” in a way when it comes to attending church regularly to sort of… prove?.. that I’m a good Christian. Oh how I’ve learned to let that go, and let me tell you, I’ve never felt closer to God. My relationship is not for everyone, and I can appreciate my friends that go to church every Sunday. I get it, and I respect it.
My walk with God looks different than most in my area, and I’m okay with that now! I go to church when I feel like I want that experience, but the bulk of my relationship with God is very personal, in my home, with my Bible and devotional. I talk to God every day, multiple times per day. I feel God in my life, I hear his voice when I seek guidance, and I notice all of the little things God places in my life. I know He is with me.
Ok, I was the little girl who would spend her allowance in Claire’s on the 10 items for $10, or whatever that crazy promotion was.. and I would literally wear every single piece to school. I am a jewelry fiend! As I’ve gotten older, my taste and style towards jewelry has definitely changed and I go for a more minimalistic approach to jewelry.
My go-to pieces include a ring (other than my wedding ring + band), a watch, and a necklace. I have a few favorite pieces that I wear constantly, but I definitely lean towards dainty pieces.
I have totally fallen in LOVE with listening to Podcasts. I jumped on this train about a month ago, and let me tell you, it is a daily thing for me! I love turning on a Podcast to listen to while I’m working. I have so many on my list that I need to dig into that I haven’t yet, there’s just not enough time in the day!
A few of my favorites right now:
- Becoming Fearless by Annie Spano of Style Collective – I promise to never stop telling people about Annie Spano because she truly is an angel and such a light in the blogging community! I LOVE her story and relate to her so much. Her podcast is so inspiring, as well as the women she brings on her podcast. LOVE HER.
- The Goal Digger by Jenna Kutcher – I have just recently started listening to this podcast because I’ve been in the Becoming Fearless zone, but this seems to be the same concept. Preaching positivity to women and leaders.
- Straight up with Stassi – as a VPR fan, I had to get more exposure to these people, particularly Stassi. Her podcast feels like you’re chatting with your best girlfriends, crass language and all. Very funny!
Podcasts on my list to start listening to:
- The Bitch Bible
- The Skinny Confidential
- The Influencer Podcast
- Fit Fierce and Fabulous
My beauty products.
I can totally be the girl that doesn’t wear makeup and in the summer, it’s only on special occasions because I loooove being in the sun and getting a tan. But, I also LOOOVVEE makeup. I’ve grown to appreciate the application of makeup and using quality products (high-end and drugstore!). One of my girlfriends turned me on to Jaclyn Hill several years back (like when she was filming in her condo kitchen!) and I’ve learned SO much from her since!
Also in the beauty products realm, investing in skincare has been on my mind and priority lately. A few products I’ve bought recently for my skin are Dr. Dennis Gross Daily Peel, Dr. Dennis Gross Retinol, Bioscience Vitamin C oil.

It should go without saying, but my family, friends and dogs are definitely the most important aspect of my life and I can’t live without or do anything without them. I lean on my husband, mom and sister more than I probably should, but they’re truly amazing human beings. My dogs are so near to my heart and if you know me personally, you know exactly what I’m talking about. I am the crazy dog lady, but in the best way!
